Hi there, Im Randy Carlson and this is my humble page dedicated to the Volkswagen.

Ive been a VW Nut for the past 15 years or so and have owned 65 different VWs at last count! Everything from a 53 Split-window beetle to a 1998 New Beetle!!

NEW BEETLE ADVENTURE

This is a wild coast to coast trip I took with a couple of buddies in our New Beetles, for more info...

I currently own 7 VW's

My wife and I woke up the morning of Friday, March 13th 1998 and read about the New Beetle's appearance in Dealer Showrooms in the paper. It was decided that if we really want one of these soon, we should get our names on "the list" right away. I called a local dealer to ask for info and the lady on the phone said that they had one available today! "Every other dealer in the area has a 6 month waiting list! This must be a joke" I said, ...well it wasn't.

Here's our New Beetle.
Apparently this was one of only 2 or 3 New Beetles sold in Southern California on the first day of sales. Most dealers just got one car and wanted to keep them over the weekend for folks to see. This dealer just plain wanted to sell the first one they got as fast as they could. This is without a doubt the most fun VW I've ever driven.

Recent additions to our stable include...
A 1953 Split Window Beetle, fully restored and fantastic. I had to sell the Dormobile camper to get it but it is worth it.

1956 Oval Window Beetle, original paint project car

1st photo is the day I bought it at the Pomona Swap Meet
2nd photo is after a few days of deep cleaning and polishing
and a 1974 Highroof Panel Van!

(Originally delivered in Germany and now is the TVA New Beetle Accessories delivery van)

The craziest VW I've owned..

This is the infamous AI-WA-NA mobile. A 1967 European model panel van with the rare optional sliding side door. It acted as a delivery van and rolling billboard for one of our businesses. We manufacture some fun Hawaiian souveniers
(right here in California!)

My past VWs...

This is just one of the past VW's Ive owned, an all original 67 Squareback purchased from the estate of an 89 year old lady who had just passed away. This car was absolutely beautiful. It came with every record from the cancelled check for the car's purchase to the most recent oil change.

Here is the list of my past and present VWs, listed from oldest to newest.
